From the Chairman's Desk

Snehalata Rane High School and Junior College is an ideal educational institution of Dadar and Mumbai. It was founded by Smt. Snehalata Rane in 1939 and conducted successfully by Madam Prabha Iyer up to 2000. I joined the education society in 2000 as secretary.

During my tenure the institute had a shortage of classrooms for starting additional units of junior college besides the girls’ school. We secured additional space at Lower Parel to begin our junior college section for commerce aspirants. Today we have a successful co-education school and junior college for science and commerce students. Our school section is aided, while the commerce section has two aided divisions and one self-financed division. The science section has one self-financed division which can be extended soon. Very soon our institute will bring up an arts faculty for students.

Our planning and execution have been received very well by students across the sections we conduct. I thank all the administrative and political associates who helped us reach where we stand today.

Our annual events and extra-curricular activities are popular among students and parents, often featuring figures from social, political and film backgrounds.

Our future plans include starting a senior college section. Working for the social welfare of society is our primary goal. Keeping this in mind — and my dream to create more professionals for IIT and medical fields — we began our IIT-JEE and NEET preparation unit.

Apart from this, our trust works for social causes:

• Scholarship programme for talented students from modest backgrounds, and for girls
• Blood donation camp
• Medical test camp
• Help for the poor and needy for medical treatment
• Environment awareness

We are looking to give the best of citizens to society.
